If you are an elementary school teacher and you are wanting to try coding with your class – good for you.
WARNING – I think there are some poor resources out there for elementary coding. I would encourage you to step back and think about what you want your kids to learn – I think you should focus on problem-solving. Teaching computational thinking can help kids learn to solve problems across subjects and outside of school. Don’t get caught up in teaching them a technology, focus on a more lasting skill.
I would highly recommend that you start with Scratch and Scratch Junior. No offense to you but I don’t think teachers should try to create something when the good minds at MIT have done a lot of work for us already.
